InstallMaster V3.1 Version (C) 1992 by H.P.G FreeWare Version
Short Description:
InstallMaster is a tool which enables you to easily install any software
package.
The only thing to do is to follow the following steps.
Read carefully this help file.
If in this file is spoken something about variables is spoken, your are
requested after reading this help file to specify a path name.
In this case a window will be opened with a stringgadget on it. Then you
can simply type in the path for the variable. Pressing return ends the
input. The path you should enter is the location the files of this
installation should be copied to. If you want to specify a disk then
add an ':' to the end of the name e.g.
'df0:'
(without any ' s).
If you instead want to specify a directory you have to add an '/' e.g.
'df0:tools/'
IntuitionInterface:
The left side of the large listview gadgets displays the source files
while the right side displays the desinations.
You can easily exclude a source file. First click on its name,
then click the 'Remove' button.
You can also change a destination. First click on its name and then on
the 'Exclude ...' gadget.
After you have set up all you want you can start the installation by
clicking on the 'Start Installation ...' button.
If you want to leave the program click on the 'Quit Installation' button.
If an installation is in progress you can stop the installation by
clicking the 'Stop Installation' button and hold down this until the
program stops.
There are a few extra options available. (this are the checkboxes)
If a checkbox is active you can see a hook in the box otherwise none.
Ask: if the 'Ask' option is activated, you would be asked for
confirmation for each file which should be copied.
Update: if the 'Update' option is activated, files will only be
copied, if they doesn`t yet exists on the destination
location. This is a protection for overwriting existing
files.
Makedirs: usually InstallMaster will ask you if you want to create
a dir in the destination if it does not currently exist.
If you activate the 'Makedirs' button all needed dirs will
be automatically created.
After the installation is finished a filerequester will be opened
which let you select another installation file. Usually you can
just cancel this filerequester and leave Installer.
